Sticky Honey Garlic Chicken
Made with better-for-you ingredients.
My family and I always joke that this chicken tastes like candy. The sauce here is so sweet and the honey gives it the perfect sticky texture. It’s almost hard to believe that this can be good for you.
My favorite healthy-swap is switching soy sauce with coconut aminos. Coconut aminos is a healthier alternative as it has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It’s made from the fermentation of coconut palm sap. Just be sure to read the labels on some bottles - some companies try to sneak in more ingredients.
For extra nutritional benefits, use raw honey in this recipe. Raw honey has the highest amount of pollen, providing you with the most antioxidants.
Serve with your favorite vegetable or sprinkle on some green onion as the perfect garnish.
INGREDIENTS:
Organic chicken breasts, cut into chunks
1 tbsp grass-fed butter
Drizzle of olive oil
Garlic salt & pepper to taste
2 tbsp arrowroot powder (or cornstarch)
2 tbsp raw honey
2 tbsp of coconut aminos
1 (hefty) tbsp of minced garlic
METHOD:
Season your chicken with garlic salt and pepper and toss in 1 tbsp arrowroot powder. Melt your butter and a drizzle of olive oil in a pan. Once your pan is hot, add your chicken and cook thoroughly.
Once your chicken is cooked, add in your garlic. Mix and cook until the garlic smells fragrant. Add in your honey and coconut aminos. Mix occasionally until your sauce thickens.
Feel free to add more honey or coconut aminos as you see fit. If your sauce isn’t thickening, add a spoonful of arrowroot powder and mix until it dissolves.
